Maple Bacon Beignets

Ingredients

  • Pure Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Hungry Jack® Original Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Pinch salt
  • 5 slices applewood or hickory smoked bacon, cooked crisp, finely chopped
  • 1 (7.5 oz.) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (10 count)

Preparation Instructions

  1. HEAT 2-inches oil to 360°F in 4-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Mix sugar, syrup, lemon juice and salt, if desired, in small bowl until smooth.
  2. PLACE 1 teaspoon bacon on biscuit. Fold biscuit in half, sealing bacon inside. Cut in half crosswise. Press edges of dough tightly to seal. Repeat with remaining biscuits.
  3. FRY 1 to 2 minutes each or until golden brown, turning once. Repeat with remaining dough. Drain on wire rack. Dip in maple glaze. Return to wire rack until set.
